As a design studio specialised in branding, we have our heads deep in typography all the time as it plays a huge role in the development of brand identities. As one of the fundamentals of design, typography is everywhere. It also happens to be the element of design that María’s most fond of. In 2021, she has committed to take her interest one step further by learning to develop her own typeface.
“I’ve always appreciated typography and my Mom knows it. She recently gifted me a typography course on Domestika and I can’t wait to start on it!” María shared in excitement.
“I want to try something new and different next year; something challenging and out of my comfort zone,” Evelyn said.
Motion graphics is something that Evelyn has always wanted to try as there is a lot of room for experimentation when it comes to animation. The visual experience of our designs can be elevated with the help of motion graphics, bringing concepts to life. “It’s a skillset that would come in handy in our line of work, especially when creating websites.” Evelyn thought out loud.
Right now, graphic design is the core of what we do, and motion graphics feel like something we can integrate to help provide a better visualisation of our designs.
We’re always thinking about the people that we design for, and try our best to understand their needs and preferences. Yu Ting wants to dive deeper into that next year, understanding the fundamentals of the UX Design process to see how we can be more user-centric in our design approach.
As a business, it is important for us to create positive experiences for customers, knowing exactly who we are designing for and making sure the customer journey is smooth.
“I feel that the process itself can be applied to anything that we do. It’s a good way to practice empathy and understand the kinds of problems you are trying to solve,” Yu Ting said.
